"I listened to this book before reading it, and I'm glad I did. Lauren Fortgang has become one of my favorite female narrators (Emma Galvin being one, as well). Her voice has a certain deep and syrupy quality that works with the Grisha series. The elaborate magics, the intricate politics of the Little Kingdom as well as the country were recounted perfectly. Lauren's voice as she narrates the Darkling is intense; I love his voice (though not him). I'm really looking forward to listening to the next installment. I also plan on reading the novellas/shorts that Leigh Bardugo has released in e-book format."
